Privacy
ScribeHold reads iPhone backup data on your own Windows PC and stores it in a local SQLite database. Message content, contact information, and attachments stay on your machine.
What stays on your PC
- Every message, attachment, and contact extracted from the iOS backup
- The full backup files produced by the Windows service
- The SQLite search index used by the app
What is sent off your PC
- Crash reports (anonymous, no message content) if you have telemetry enabled in Settings
- License validation requests to the Microsoft Store or our direct-download licensing endpoint, if applicable
What we never collect
- Message content of any kind
- Contact names, phone numbers, or email addresses from your messages
- Photos, videos, or any other attachments
Telemetry is opt-out and can be disabled at any time in Settings. Questions: privacy@scribehold.com.
